Basically you’re going to need to make an HTML form with some inputs so the user can input whatever data you need for a user. Also, you need to set the action attribute on the form to the name of the file that will process the information (php, python, jsp, etc file).

clicking the submit button will push the input’s data to file.php. Depending on what language you’re using, you will use different syntax to get those parameters and enter them into the database. Paypal works well for many businesses. We use it for both our companies. The only limitation is that it will not accept payments for transactions over £650 where the customer doesn’t have a Paypal account.
One way round this is to use Netbanx. Their fees are very reasonable and you can start with a bureau account with them (works in a similar way to Paypal) and change to a merchant account once you’ve built up a track record.
I did investigate having a merchant account with our bank but we would still have had to have the Netbanx account as well. Doubling the charges didn’t seem worth it. This may not be the case with all banks. I can only speak for Lloyds.
